Today, Encompass provides a broad array of Early Learning, Pediatric Therapy, and Family Enrichment programs to the Snoqualmie Valley and greater Eastside area for children of all abilities and their families.<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/192164837\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" align=\"right\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h2>MILESTONES<\/h2>\n<p><strong>1966<\/strong> | Organized in 1966, the Sno-Valley School for Special Needs, Inc., was parent-created and parent-managed for families looking for a local preschool for their handicapped children in their isolated rural community.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1977<\/strong> | Added services for adults with developmental disabilities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1980<\/strong> | Began offering home-based early intervention services for infants and toddlers with disabilities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1987<\/strong> | Launched an Early Childhood Education and Assistance (ECEAP) comprehensive preschool for low-income 4- and 5-year-olds modeled after Head Start.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1988<\/strong> | Changed organization name to Children\u2019s Services of Sno-Valley.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1990s<\/strong> | An evaluation of the agency brought the realization that program expansion was a certainty and a new facility out of the flood plain was imperative.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1996<\/strong> | Completed a successful capital campaign organized with tremendous support from volunteers and local donors. Completed the new facility at 1407 Boalch Ave (the current Early Learning Center) just one month before the Snoqualmie River inundated the old site one more time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2005<\/strong> | Changed name from Children\u2019s Services of Sno-Valley to Encompass.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2007<\/strong> | Opened pediatric therapy clinic.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2010<\/strong> |The new location for the pediatric therapy clinic opened in downtown North Bend.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2014<\/strong> | Opened a new clinic in downtown Snoqualmie.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2016<\/strong>\u00a0| Began partnership\u00a0with Riverview School District to manage and teach the <a href=\"https:\/\/encompassnw.org\/program\/early-learning\/eceap-preschool\/\">Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP) preschool<\/a> class at Carnation Elementary School.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2017<\/strong>\u00a0| Built and launched the Encompass <a href=\"https:\/\/encompassnw.org\/resources\/mobile-therapy-unit\/\">Mobile Therapy Unit<\/a>, the first of its kind in Washington State, funded by a generous grant from the <a href=\"https:\/\/wawomensfdn.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Washington Women&#8217;s Foundation.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>2018<\/strong>\u00a0| Kicked off <a href=\"https:\/\/encompassnw.org\/get-involved\/capital-campaign\/\"><em>It Starts Here: Our Campaign for Encompass<\/em><\/a>, a capital campaign to build a new Encompass facility on the Old Honey Farm Inn property in Snoqualmie.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2019<\/strong> | Expanded Birth to Three Early Intervention program to include Skykomish School District.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2021<\/strong> | Opened our new, purpose-built <a href=\"https:\/\/encompassnw.org\/child-development-center\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Child Development Center<\/a> in Snoqualmie, offering Pediatric Therapy services in mental health, occupational, speech-language, and feeding support.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2023<\/strong>\u00a0| Launched our <a href=\"https:\/\/encompassnw.org\/program\/pediatric-therapy\/community-based-services\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Community-Based Services<\/a> program, providing therapeutic services to children within their natural environment at preschools, private schools, and daycare settings.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Encompass began in 1966 by a group of parents seeking a school and a &#8220;place to belong&#8221; for children with special needs in the community.
